Glass plate ceramic palette

The M.P.F. glass plate ceramic palette is one of the latest innovations by the M.P.F Brush Co.

The MPF glass plate ceramic palette consists of a glass plate and plastic base. It is supplied with one agate spatula for mixing ceramic, four synthetic leather strips and a white plastic bottle for distilled water. We have created this ceramic palette for the ceramist’s that prefer to work on a glass surface. By utilizing the synthetic leather strips we have been able to create a glass plate ceramic palette that can keep your ceramic mix continuously wet. The synthetic leather strips are positioned across the glass plate in 4mm location grooves which lock the strip in position and by placing your ceramic material up against these synthetic leather strips, the water from the base permeates up through the strips and into the ceramic stack, creating a very homogenous ceramic mix. To obtain an even greater consistency special modeling liquids can be applied directly to the ceramic stack itself.

1. Take the synthetic leather strips and soak them in water 2. On the glass plate there are two 4mm grooves that have been scored into the glass, so that the synthetic leather strips can be positioned

3. You will notice that the synthetic leather strips are slightly longer on both sides of the glass plate, this is so that they can rolled down into the plastic base to permeate the water from the base up into the ceramic stack. 4. Using agate spatula provided position the synthetic leather strips down into the plastic base

5. On the top right hand corner of the glass plate there is a blue metallic ringlet, we have created an entrance through the glass plate via this blue ringlet, which makes it easy to fill the base with distilled water, utilizing the 250ml water bottle provided. 6. The MPF Glass Plate Ceramic Palette system, creates a very homogenous ceramic stack, if the ceramist desires a more homogenous feel to their ceramic, special modeling liquids can also be applied.
